TIPS
TO DO WELL ON THE ACT:
Preparation counts! Students who complete a core preparatory program score nearly three (3) points higher than those who do not. ACT defines a core curriculum as four (4) or more years of English and three (3) or more years of each of the following: social sciences, natural sciences and mathematics courses (including Algebra 1 and above).

ENGLISH: English 9, English 10, Reading Strategies, Mythology, American Literature 1 & 2, British Literature, Journalism, Advanced Grammar, Advanced Composition and Advanced Placement English
MATHEMATICS:
Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, Trigonometry, Analysis, Probability/Statistics
and Advanced Placement English
SCIENCE:
Earth Science, Biology 1 & 2, Chemistry 1 & 2, Physics 1 & 2,
Human Anatomy & Physiology, and Ecology
SOCIAL
STUDIES: World Geography, American History, American Government,
Economics, Sociology & Psychology
FOREIGN
LANGUAGE: Spanish 1 through 4
(Students who take a foreign language are better prepared for the English
portion of the test!)
