What To Do if Your Child is Sick, Has an Appointment, or is Out of Town:

It is important that your child attend school on a daily basis.  Please try to schedule all appointments outside of the school day. 

Es importante que su hijo(a) asista a la escuela en una base diaria.  Por favor trata de hacer todas tus citas fuera del día escolar. 

    You must call the office at (402) 494-3501 when your child is sick, has an appointment, is out of town or cannot be at school for some other reason.  Please inform the office why your child will be absent and how long you think he or she will be out of school.

    Pueden llamar a la oficina (al 494-3501) cuando su hijo/a esté enfermo, tenga una cita, vaya a salir fuera de la ciudad o por cualquier razón.  Porfavor llame a la oficina para avisar si su hijo/a va a faltar ese día, y por cuanto tiempo piensa usted que estará su hijo/a ausente de la escuela.

If Your Child is Late or You Have to Take Your Child Out of School:

    If your child arrives after 8:20 a.m., he or she needs to come to the office and check in.  Please send a note explaining why he or she is late.  If you need to take your child out of school during the day, please send a note to your child's teacher stating the date and time of the appointment.  When you arrive at school to pick up your child, come to the office.  We will contact the classroom teacher, and your child will meet you in the office.

    Si su hijo/a llega despues de las 8:20 a.m. él/ella necesita reportarse a la oficina y hablar con la secretaria.  Favor de mandar una nota explicando la razón por la cual llegó tarde.  Si usted necesita sacar a su hijo/a de la escuela temprano por alguna cita, tendrá que mandar una nota para la maestra diciendo la fecha y hora.  Cuando usted llegue a la escuela para rocojer al estudiante, venga a la oficina.  Nosotros le llamaremos a la maestra para que su hijo/a lo encuentren en la oficina.

    Breakfast is available for students who attend E.N. Swett Elementary School.  Serving starts at 7:40 a.m. and ends at 8:05 a.m.  Hot lunches are available.  Students have two main courses from which to choose.

    Desayuno es disponible para los estudiantes de la escuela E.N. Swett.  Empiezan a sevir a las 7:40 a.m. y termina de servir a las 8:05 a.m.  lonche también es disponible.  Los estudiantes puenden escojer entre dos platillos.

    To support the district's efforts to ensure every student becomes a successful reader, E.N. Swett Elementary offers Reading Recovery, Title One Reading, & Literature Support during the school day.

   Para apoyar los esfuerzos del districto que todos los estudiantes pueden tener éxito en leer, la escuela E.N. Swett ofrece los servicios como Reading Recovery, Title One Reading y Literature  Support durante el año escolar.

Second Language learners who attend E.N. Swett Elementary will be instructed in special classes to learn English and to support their first language.  Various levels of English are offered to students.

   Los estudiantes que están aprendiendo inglés asisten a clases especiales donde los enseñan inglés y a la misma vez apoyar su primer idioma.  Muchos niveles de inglés se les ofrece a los estudiantes.

All students, in kindergarten through fifth grades, at E.N. Swett Elementary attend "special" classes during the week.  These classes include:  Art, Music, Technology, Library, Guidance, and Physical Education (P.E.)

      Todos los estudiantes de kinder hasta cinco grados en la escuela E.N. Swett tienen clases "especiales" durante la semana.  Estas clases incluyen:  arte, música, técnología, librería consegería, y educación fisíca.

   We communicate with families, frequently, in many ways to tell them about special activities & events taking place at school.  Every Thursday, your child will bring home a packet with information about events or, possibly, forms to be completed.  These folders should be returned the next day.  If you have questions about the materials, please call the school at (402) 494-3501.

   Nosotros estamos frecuentemente comunicándonos con las familias para informarles de diferentes actividades de la escuela.  Cada jueves, su hijo/a traerá una carpeta con papeles importantes que usted tiene que leer.  Ésta carpeta se tiene que regresar al siguiente día.  Si usted tiene preguntas por favor de llamar a la escuela al 494-3501.
