2008 Season Results:

• O'Neill Downs SSC 10-2 in NE Class B District Play.
  Lady Cardinals close inaugural season with a   Record of 3-20.
  Scoring for the Lady Cardinals were Sierra Kramper & Kayla Hoch.  Asheya Mogensen had an RBI single.  Also providing hits for SSC were Emily Schroeder, Samantha Goodier, & Bri Bakker.
   
• Columbus Lake View Blanked SSC 4-0 in 3rd Round District Game   Record 3-19
  Cardinals were limited to just 2 hits.
   
• Lady Cardinals Top O'Neill 4-3 in 8 innings in the 2nd Round District Game   Record 3-18
  Providing the fireworks in the top of the 8th inning was Jessica Hammer as she drove home Kelsey Gangestad to give SSC the win.  In the bottom of the 8th inning Brianne Bakker got the final out on a game-saving catch.  Sam Goodier got the win for SSC & struck out 3.
   
• SSC Wins 1st Round NE Class B District Game 12-7 over Schuyler   Record 2-18
  Emily Schroeder had 4 singles & 5 RBIs, Asheya Mogensen added 2 hits & 3 RBIs, & Sam Goodier got the pitching win for SSC.
   
• Wayne Blanks SSC 8-0  Record 1-18  End of Regular Season Play
  SSC's Sam Goodier had 2 singles
   
• SSC Tops Omaha Duchesne 7-6!  1st SB Win for SSCHS!  Congratulations Girls!  Record 1-17
  Kacie Kavanaugh had the game winning hit for the Lady Cardinals.  Sam Goodier was the winning pitcher for SSC.  Kelsey Gangestad was a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate.  Asheya Mogenson & Hillary Palsma each had 2 hits & 2 RBIs.  Jessica Hammer also added 2 hits & an RBI.
   
• RCC Tournament - Second game: Omaha Roncalli/Ft.Calhoun 13 South Sioux City 4   Record 0-17
  Lady Cardinals jumped out to a 4-0 lead at the end of the first inning but were unable to keep the lead.
  Pacing the Lady Cardinals effort were Hillary Palsma with two hits and 1 RBI, Emily Schroeder two run RBI single. Other hits were by Jessica Hammer, Bri Bakker, Michelle Lethcoe, Natalie Schulz and Kelsey Gangestad. 

   

• RCC Tournament - First game:  Beatrice 11 South Sioux City 0   Record 0-16
  Beatrice pitcher Anna Vitosh held the Lady Cardinals to no hits.

   
• Lady Cardinal Softball lose a pair of games in Omaha   Record 0-15
  Game 1: Omaha Mercy 13  South Sioux City 0.  Hits for us were from Jessica Hammer, Emily Schroeder & Kelsey Gangestad.

  Game 2: Omaha Ralston 10  South Sioux City 1.  Emily Schroeder hit a double & Hillary Palsma had a single with two stolen bases.
   

• Blair Blanks Lady Cardinals 12-0   Record 0-13
  SSC had only one hit and that was by Sam Goodier.
   
• Lutheran High Northeast Stops the Cardinals 12-5   Record 0-12
  SSC 8 hits, but it wasn't enough.  Leading the Lady Cardinals with 2 hits apiece were Sam Goodier, Natalie Schulz, & Jessica Hammer.  Goodier has an RBI and Hammer had 2 RBIs.
   
• South Sioux City Lost 2 Games in O'Neill Tournament   Record 0-10 & 0-11
  SSC lost to Gehring 10-0 & O'Neill 8-2 in the O'Neill SB Triangular
  We lost to Gering 10-0 with Sam Goodier and Emily Schroeder getting our two hits.
  In the O'Neill game Bri Bakker hit a RBI double, Asheya Mogensen also had a RBI single, & Sam Goodier, Hillary Palsma & Sierra Kramper all chipped in with singles.
   
• Logan View/Scribner-Snyder 9  South Sioux City 0  (5 innings)   Record 0-9
  Getting hits for SSC were Kelsey Gangestad with 2 singles. Sam Goodier & Hillary Palsma each had a double.
   
• Weeping Water Slid Past SSC 12-1 (4 innings)   Record 0-8
  Hillary Palsma drove in Kelsey Gangestad with SSC's lone run.
   
• Omaha Gross Tops the Lady Cardinals 14-1 (4 innings)   Record 0-7
  Kelsey Gangestad scored SSC's lone run on Emily Schroeder's RBI hit
   
• Lutheran High Northeast Sidelines South Sioux City 10-1   Record 0-6
  Cardinals were limited to 1 hit - a double by Jessica Hammer - she would later score the lone SSC run.
   
• Omaha Roncalli/Fort Calhuoun Defeated SSC 10-2   Record 0-5
  Leading South Sioux City was Hillary Palsma & Kacie Kavanaugh each with a pair of hits. Jessica Hammer & Asheya Mogensen each had an RBI.
   
• Beatrice Sidelines Cardinals 12-0 (4 innings)  Record 0-4
  SSC got a single from Jessica Hammer and a double from Brianne Bakker.
   
• Friend, NE Stops SSC 12-4  Record 0-3
  Hillary Palsma went 2 for 2 with 3 RBIs for the Lady Cardinals.
   
• Holdrege Tops Lady Cardinals 12-3  Record 0-2
  Leading SSC was Emily Schroeder going 3 for 3 with an RBI.  Samantha Goodier went 2 for 3, while suffering the pitching loss.
   
• Seward Blanked SSC 10-0 (4 innings)  Record 0-1
  Bri Bakker was the losing pitcher allowing just 4 hits.  She also got the Cardinals lone hit, a single.
