Welcome Message From Our Superintendent

    Welcome to the South Sioux City Community Schools!  We are a diverse, growing, progressive school district that enjoys the support of parents, patrons and the business community.  The school district uses block scheduling, the middle level philosophy, various models of behavior management and academic support programs to create a successful academic environment for students.

    The South Sioux City Community Schools consists of six elementary schools (grades K-5), a middle school (grades 6-8) and a high school (grades 9-12).  In addition the school district operates an educational site for its alternative school and for severe and multiply disadvantaged children as well as another site for pre-school children.  The total student population, not including pre-school is 3,385 students.

    The school district has a dedicated staff of approximately 500 professional and classified employees and all play an integral part in the success of students.  It is also served by a supportive Board of Education that always considers what is best for students.  In the South Sioux City Community Schools, everyone is dedicated to “getting the right results by doing the right things for all students”!
