SSC 3rd in Maple Valley Anthon Otto Invite:
The South Sioux City wrestlers competed at the Maple Valley Anthon Otto invite over the weekend. South Sioux finished in third place in the eleven team tournament with Sergeant Bluff winning the tournament, Manson Northwest was second. Individual placers were as follows Austin Johnson 3rd, Cody Hattig 3rd, Sergio Guerrero 2nd, Ned Frazee 5th, Luis DeAnda 2nd, Brandon Borchers 4th, Alan Rave 5th, Teddy Drum 3rd, Sergio Badillo 4th, Enrique Perez 4th, and Art Perez 5th.
South Sioux City 6th in Blair Tournament:
The SSC wrestlers participated in the Blair Invite finishing sixth place scoring 94 points. Millard South won the tournament with 218 points followed by Ralston with 143. Leading the Cardinals was Luis DeAnda who won the 130 division. Other individual medalists for the cards were Sergio Badillo (160) 2nd, Cody Hattig (112) 4th, Ricardo Franco (140) 4th, Enrique Perez (215) 4th, and Art Perez (275) 4th
3 Dual Meet with Dakota Valley, Maple Valley, & Ponca:
The Cardinal wrestlers started off the 2008 season wreslting three duals Thursday night in Ponca. Dropping the first dual to Maple Valley Anthon Otto 31-41; The Cardinals then went on to win the second two beating Dakota Valley 57-24 and Ponca 72-10. Three match winners were Austin Johnson, Cody Hattig, Ned Frazee and Ricardo Franco.
