South Sioux qualified3 wrestlers for the 2009-2010 Nebraska State Meet in Omaha. The top four qualifiers from each weight class qualify for the state meet in Omaha. SSC qualifiers were Austin Johnson 2nd at 103, Cody Hattig 3rd at 112, and Ned Frazee 3rd at 135. A4 at Millard South The Cardinal wrestlers finished fourth this past weekend in the RCC dual meet tournament. The wrestlers defeated Omaha Gross 66-12 and Omaha Roncalli 54-27. Then dropped duals to Omaha Skutt 15-66, Ralston 34-38, and Beatrice 21-54. Going 2-3 in dual meet action for the day. The tournament was held at Omaha Skutt. Austin Johnson went 5-0 at 103 pounds for the cards. Rene Delcid at 119 and Ned Frazee at 135 were 4-1. Ryan Herron was 3-0 at 285. Cody Hattig at 112, Bart Kent at 215 and Steven Alvarez 125 went 3-2. The Cardinal wrestling team went 1-2 in duals last night at Sioux City West. Dropping duals to SF Washington 56-15 and Spencer 57-18. The Cardinals defeated SC West 37-34 in the final dual of the night. Wrestlers going 3-0 were Austin Johnson at 103 and Cody Hattig at 112. South Sioux wrestlers finished 5th in the Omaha Roncalli Invite on Saturday January 30th. A very experienced Sioux City East team won the event with 246.5 points, Bellevue East with 211, Fort Calhoun 106, Lincoln Pius 94, South Sioux 82.5, Then Ralston, Omaha Roncalli, Omaha Benson, Omaha Northwest, and Omaha North. Individual Place finishers for SSC were Austin Johnson(103) 1st, Ned Frazee(135) and Ryan Herron(285) 2nd, Rene Delcid(119) 3rd, and very deep weight class Cody Hattig(112) was 4th. The South Sioux City wrestlers defeated Omaha Roncalli in a dual 45-34 on Tuesday night. Match details will follow. 103 Austin Johnson SSC WBFF The wrestlers competed in the Rock Valley Boyden Hull invite on Saturday. They finished 7th as a team. With Sheldon South O'brien winning the meet. Individual place winners for the cards were as follows. Austin Johnson 1st, Cody Hattig 2nd, Rene Delcid 3rd, Ned Frazee and Ryne Sell 4th, Ryan Herron 5th, Steven Alvarez and Teddy Drum 6th. South Sioux City dropped a wrestling meet to Wayne on Tuesday night 37-33. Individual winners for SSC were Austin Johnson, Cody Hattig, Ronnie Mendolia, Kevin La, Ryne Sell, and Bobby Johnson. The South Sioux City wrestlers finished 2nd in there own invite scoring 164.5 points and placing 13 wrestlers in the top 6. Team scoring went as follows: Millard North 179.5, South Sioux City 164.5, Winside 156.5, Lincoln High 134.5, West Monona 111. Lincoln Southeast 96.5, Hinton 85, Westwood 83, Dakota Valley 68. SSC wrestlers dropped a pair of duals last night. Losing to Sioux City West 33-45 and Sioux City North 12-63. We had one two match winner that was Ned Frazee at 135 and 140. The South Sioux wrestlers finished in 5th place at the Maple Valley Anthon Otto wrestling Invite this last Saturday. Team scoring went as follows.Sergeant Bluff Lutton 250, Manson Northwest Webster 178.5, Tri-Center 155, Maple Valley 146, SSC 126, Prairie Valley 88.5, West Monona 87, Dennison-Schleshwig 63, West Harrison 41, East Sac County 33. The Cardinals had 10 individual medalists: Cody Hattig lead the way with a first place finish at 112 pounds, Austin Johnson was 2nd at 103, Placing third was Ned Frazee at 135, Teddy Drum at 160, Fourth place finishers were Ryne Sell at 145 and Sergion Badillo at 171, Fifth place finishers were Rene Delcid at 119, Ryan Herron at 285, Sixth place finishers were Kevin La at 130, and Chad Bauerly at 152.
