Dear Parents,
Welcome to the DC
Website. I am your child’s Library and Technology teacher, and would
I welcome your comments any time. I have been planning this website
in my mind for several years. Now with the help of Lance Swanson,
Chris Cornell, and Dave Meiske, it is finally up. As you will note it will
continue to be a work in progress.
I developed this site for
several reasons.
- I wanted to provide
additional curriculum support for the teachers and provide a
chance for students to further explore topics they are studying in
class.
- The internet is a
valuable research tool that people can use to explore and expand
their knowledge. As you well know, the internet can also be a
dangerous place to surf. For that reason, our students are given
specific sites to explore instead of being allowed to “surf the
net.” (*You will note whenever leaving the DC site, a new
browser window pops up. I did this so the students wouldn’t get
“lost in space.” If you have a pop-up stopper on your computer,
you will have to hold down the Shift key while accessing the
external sites. When you are finished exploring a site, just close
the window, and you will be back at the DC site.)
- I hope you will
participate in the exploration of the many sites with your child.
Please take time to do
me a favor and let me know what type of sites in which you would be
interested. I will do my best to locate those resources for you and
post them at this location. Please e-mail me with questions,
comments, concerns or suggestions.
Thank you,
Pat Von Minden |
