Dear Parent or Guardian,

If your family has not yet completed a Free and Reduced Meal Application for the 2020-2021 school year, please do so soon.  Due to a waiver from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), all students at South Sioux City Community Schools will receive free breakfast and lunch for the remainder of the 2020-21 school year regardless of meal application status.  Even though meals are currently free, we strongly encourage families to still complete the application as several other benefits may be available to your family or your child’s school based on your application.  Such benefits include:

  • Electronic Benefit Transfers (EBT) and/or Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfers (P-EBT)
  • Certain scholarships for your students
  • Additional state and/or federal funding for your child’s school
  • Families who complete a Free and Reduced Meal application for the 2020-2021 school year carry over their eligibility status for the first thirty (30) days of the 2021-2022 school year.  This means if you complete an application now, and your student(s) qualify for free or reduced-price meals, they will receive free or reduced-price meals in August when school starts.  You will then have the opportunity to reapply for those benefits to continue.

Listed below are the needed links to the Free & Reduced Price School Meals Applications.  We request that you complete the application and return as soon as possible to your child’s school. There are also drop boxes on each school location. You may also mail the application to:
