There is a new page on the district website under the Latest News called "Reopening Plan".  There is also a link under "Hot Topics".

The District will release a contingency plan on Monday (7/20/20) that includes different scenarios in a color coded matrix.   Those colors should match  what the local and state health  officials use.  Keep in mind it will be a working model and constantly be subject to change as we get new data and directives. It does look like there will be an option for virtual learning.  Look for more information and a questionnaire to be sent out next week from the school district.

South Sioux City Community Schools has several teams developing guidance and planning for staff/students to return to school. We will continually review and assess the guidelines provided by the Governor, NDE, as well as work with our local partners, to assess how to safely welcome students & staff back to school for the 2020-21 school year.

We will add documents and links as the planning process evolves. Please check back often, as that information will likely change with any new federal and state guidelines that are issued.

As of now, new teachers will start on August 5th and returning teachers will report on August 10th.  August 13th will be the First Day (Noon dismissal) for Grades K-6 & 9; August 14th will be the First Day for Students K-12.  Link to 2020-2021 School Calendar.
