National Honor Society (NHS)

Tammy Johnson, NHS Advisor

On March 17th 2020, the South Sioux City Chapter of the National Honor Society will induct new members in the annual ceremony.
To be eligible for membership, a student must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.3 or above as of January 22nd, 2020. In addition to the academic requirement, participation and leadership in school and community activities is required. The faculty will be reviewing all tenth, eleventh, and twelfth grade students who are academically eligible for membership. The final selection is determined by a Faculty Council. Membership in the National Honor Society is based upon excellence in four areas: scholarship, leadership, service, and character. Each category is judged separately.

Download an Application form (Microsoft Word).

All applications must be submitted via e-mail to tammy.johnson@ssccards.org by 3:45 P.M. on Friday, February 14th, 2020. Upon receipt, a confirmation e-mail will be sent within 24 hours. If a confirmation is not received, please contact Mrs. Johnson at the high school.
NO APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER THIS DATE AND TIME.

Students who become members in NHS are reviewed periodically by the faculty and must maintain the high standards of scholarship, leadership, service, and character required by the Honor Society.  Although you are to be commended for maintaining a high scholastic average, please understand that membership is not guaranteed to anyone. The final decision for membership is made by the Faculty Council. Notification of acceptance status will be delivered by mail in mid-March.
If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Johnson at the High School.
