Volunteers are an integral part of our school. Many opportunities arise throughout the year. We encourage parents, senior citizens, and community members to volunteer their time and talents to the school.Volunteers may work in the classroom, with small groups of children, in our media center or reading resource lab, from home, or by sharing their own personal interests and hobbies.  If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, please contact Dr. Sylvester at 402-494-1917.

A Message from the Principal:

Welcome to the Lewis and Clark Elementary School website. I am honored to be the principal at Lewis and Clark Elementary School and feel privileged to have an opportunity to work with amazing students, staff and families.  Our faculty and support staff are extremely dedicated and strive to make positive connections with students every day.

At Lewis and Clark Elementary School, we provide a safe and orderly learning environment for students in grades Kindergarten through Fifth. We treat ourselves and others with respect.  We honor the diversity and unique strengths and talents of each of our students and dedicate our efforts to help them experience individual success.

Our priority is to provide every student with high quality focused learning experiences every day. Our adults work in collaborative teams so that they can provide students with high quality educational experiences which focus on essential learning skills.  We are dedicated to ensuring that students are actively engaged in learning.  We also work with parents and community members to inspire children to become lifelong learners.

Last year, Lewis and Clark Elementary School celebrated its 50th birthday.  Our school is named after Meriwether Lewis and William Clark.  Lewis and Clark were explorers who were selected to lead the Corps of Discovery Expedition to the Pacific coast.  Our students and staff consider themselves to be present day explorers.  We begin each day by stating the Pledge of Allegiance at 7:55.

Thank you for your interest in our school and for visiting the online home of the Lewis and Clark Explorers!
