About Us
South Sioux City Middle School is comprised of 840 students from sixth to eighth grade. There are three teams in sixth grade, and two teams at 7th and 8th grade. Our students have a seven period day with five core periods and two exploratory/elective periods along with a homeroom and a flextime at the end of the day.
We offer a variety of exploratory and elective classes including band, choir, Hispanic Culture, FCS, Careers, Health, PE, Art, Character Ed., Keyboarding and Computer Application classes. Students can Our band and choir performs at least twice a year. All students have a guided study hall (Flextime) with a team teacher at the end of the day. Flextime at the end of the day provides flexibility for our students to get help from the teachers they need help from before they leave for the day, and allows them to participate in some other activities like Geography Bee, Math Counts, Knowledge Masters, and Book Club.
