Middle School

Grading

All core classes teach grade level standards. Please visit the Nebraska Department of Education for more information: http://www.education.ne.gov/AcademicStandards/index.html

The grading scale is as follows:

A – Advanced:

High level of understanding of concepts and skills.

Assignments are complete, high quality, well organized and show a level of commitment.

Almost all the learning goals are fully or consistently met and extended.

P – Proficient:

Good grasp of concepts and skills.

Assignments are generally complete, thorough and organized.

Most of the learning goals are fully or consistently met.

B – Basic:

Satisfactory of skills and concepts.

Assignments are generally complete, but quality, thoroughness and organization vary.

More than half of the learning goals are fully or consistently met.

E– Emerging:

Weak acquisition of skills and concepts.

Assignments are widely varied in quality, thoroughness and organization.

Only a few of the learning goals are fully or consistently met.

I – Incomplete:

Too few assignments were completed to accurately evaluate student performance or no effort was made.

Students may retake most assessments and work out the details with the classroom teacher.

WIN time is a wonderful time to improve knowledge, practice skills and retake assessments.

Please check PowerSchool weekly to get a pulse on how your child is doing.  Each child is given a log in and password, so they can check their progress. Teachers and students also do weekly grade checks.
