Thanks to those who participated in our first community engagement meeting. We had approximately 80 people attend and welcome more voices to the process! Please plan to  join us on December 6, 2018, at the South Sioux City High School Library from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm (90 minutes) and encourage others to attend with you. Everyone is invited. We are excited to gather community voices about current and future initiatives as our school district looks for ways to best serve our students. We all want to prepare our students and equip them for success.

We respect the values and wisdom of our local community members. We need your opinion as our new strategic plan for the board of education is formed. This plan will guide our district for the next 3-5 years. Your input is important to us and essential. We want to be sure we understand our community’s perspectives on the following agenda topics:

  1. As a valued stakeholder, identify points of pride, achievements, expectations and priorities of our school district.
  2. Identify specific ways you or your organization can assist in ensuring the academic achievement and preparation of our graduates.
  3. Identify what you believe are strengths and possible improvements needed for the district regarding learning facilities and grounds:

Your input and information will be recorded and compiled from this meeting and the others to follow. The Nebraska School Boards Association will facilitate the meeting, record the results and provide unbiased feedback to the Superintendent and Board of Education as the new strategic plan is developed. We hope you are able to attend this meeting and/or our next planned meeting December 19, 5-6:30 pm at the HS Library.  Each meeting has a different agenda and important work to be done. Your time and attendance is much appreciated. Please share this invite.

Thank you in advance for your participation in this exciting endeavor and Go Cards!
