All Juniors will take the ACT Test on April 4th

On Tuesday, April 4th, 2023, all juniors will take the ACT test.  The ACT serves two purposes: it is the state of Nebraska’s accountability test, and it is also a college entrance test.  This test will be free of charge to our students.  There is no registration required by parents or students.

The ACT test scores will provide information about progress toward college readiness and is widely used by colleges in making decisions about admission.  Students are able to share their scores with up to four colleges for free.

Breakfast will be served that morning before the test.  We ask that all 11th grade students report to the high school no later than 7:55 to ensure a successful testing experience..  This will allow the students enough time to go to their testing rooms.  Juniors who attend GTL will test at GTL; they will not test at the high school.

The ACT includes multiple-choice tests in English, Reading, Mathematics, and Science, as well as a Writing test which is an essay.  This test will NOT be a paper/pencil test.  Students will take the ACT on chromebooks.  The software provides a calculator, but students are welcome to bring their own ACT approved calculators.

Estimados Padres/Tutores,

El martes, 4 de abril de 2023, todos los estudiantes del grado once tomarán el examen ACT.  El ACT tiene dos propósitos: es el examen de rendición de cuentas del estado de Nebraska, y también es el examen de ingreso a la universidad.  Este examen es gratuito para nuestros estudiantes.  No se requiere que usted o su estudiante se registren.  

El puntaje del examen ACT proveerán información acerca del progreso de su estudiante hacia la preparación para la Universidad y es utilizado ampliamente por las universidades para tomar decisiones de admisión.  Los estudiantes pueden compartir su puntaje con hasta cuatro universidades de forma gratuita.  

Se servirá desayuno por la mañana antes del examen.  Pedimos que todos los estudiantes de grado once se reporten a la preparatoria a más tardar a las 7:55 para asegurar una experiencia exitosa en el examen.  Esto les permitirá a los estudiantes suficiente tiempo para ir a su salón de examen.  Los estudiantes de grado once que asisten a GTL tomarán su examen en GTL; ellos no tomarán el examen en la preparatoria.

 El examen ACT incluye exámenes de opción múltiple en las materias de inglés, lectura, matemáticas y ciencias, al igual que un ensayo en el examen de escritura.  Este examen NO será exámen de papel/lápiz.  Los estudiantes tomarán el examen ACT en sus Chromebook.  El software proporciona una calculadora, pero los estudiantes pueden traer sus propias calculadoras aprobadas por ACT.
