The Senior Honors Convocation is Sunday, May 2nd, at 6:00PM at the Middle School Auditorium.  If you have applied for any local scholarship, it is very important that you attend.  Each senior student can bring up to six family members. Please sit with your family and wear a mask.  Seniors also need to complete the attached Senior Scholarship Information sheet and return it to the school counseling office by Wednesday, April 28th with a senior picture.  Please list all scholarships you have been offered, even if you are not attending that college.  If you have questions, please visit with your counselor.   

• The deadlines for the following scholarships are quickly approaching:
• Security National A.G. & Rosalee Ireland Scholarship / Deadline: To HS Counselor by April 9, 2021 / Mrs. Aitken has printed applications in the Guidance Office / Info., Qualifications, Procedures, & Application 
• 2021 TeamMates Local Scholarship / Deadline: April 9, 2021 / Active in TeamMates for a minimum of two years / Requirements & Application   
• SSC Education Assoc. Scholarship / Due 4-12-21 / Academic & Character / Application   
• 2021 Nebraska Coaches Association-Country Inn & Suites Scholarship / Deadline: April 15, 2021 / PDF Link or Word Link 
• James M. Cox Foundation Scholarship / Deadline: Postmarked on or before April 15, 2021 / The Foundation awards $1,000 scholarships to graduating seniors in Nebraska who will attend a Nebraska-based institution of higher learning in the 2021-2022 academic year & who demonstrate acute need, with special emphasis on those students in the eastern third of the state / James Cox Mission, High Emphasis Counties, & Application      
• Sioux City Retired Educators Scholarship / Deadline: April 16, 2021 / Requirements & Application
• Margaret Wolf Music Scholarship / Deadline: April 21, 2021 / Continue in music field / Info & Application (PDF) or Word Version 
• Ellevation Scholarship / Deadline: May 14, 2021 / We are awarding five $2,000 scholarships to deserving EL students so they may pursue their higher education. Information & Application 

Important Dates:  Wednesday, April 21, 3:45-7:00 = High School Conferences

  Friday, April 23, No School = District Music Contest

  Saturday, April 24 = Senior Grand March and After Prom Party

  Tuesday, May 11 = Senior Graduation Walk at Elementary Schools

  Thursday, May 13 = Last Day of School for Seniors, Graduation Practice

  Sunday, May 16 = GRADUATION

Please send your senior picture to steph.hames@ssccards.org and tell us “Where are You Going/Been Accepted to College?”  We will print your picture and where you are going to college and put them up on the bulletin board in the commons and by the counselor’s office.

Seniors ... complete these college planning tasks:

__ Expect financial aid award notifications from the colleges you listed on your FAFSA.

__ Accept financial aid offers, submit your housing deposit, and register for new student orientation.  

__ Start purchasing dorm essentials.
