Kindergarten Registration

Kindergarten Registration for the  2023-2024 School Year

To register for kindergarten, children must be 5 years old on or before July 31, 2023. 

The South Sioux City Community School District offers Kindergarten - 5th grade in all five Elementary Schools:

• Cardinal Elementary School
• Covington Elementary School
• Dakota City Elementary School
• Harney Elementary School
• Lewis & Clark Elementary School

If you are not currently enrolled in our Cardinal Preschool located at EN Swett, please call or visit the registrar between 8:00am and 3:30pm Monday - Friday to get your child registered for Kindergarten.

Please bring the following with you:                                                    

• Birth Certificate (not the hospital copy) 
• Immunization Record 
• 2 Proofs of Address must contain parent/guardian’s name (current lease or mortgage, utility bills, property tax) 
• Proof of Parenthood/guardianship (Birth certificate matches photo ID, Adoption Records, Foster Parent Records, Education Guardianship form)

**NOTE: Students that attend Cardinal Preschool at EN Swett will be automatically registered in Kindergarten.
