Building Rep Expectations

• Attend monthly Building Rep meetings (no more than eight). If you attend, you earn $10 per meeting, which is paid at the end of the school year. 

• Attend one assigned Board of Education meeting per year. Share notes with the Leadership Team so we can share with all members.

• Forward notes/messages from LT to building members in a timely manner, preferably within 24 hours.

• Collect any fund raising money and send it to the Leadership Team.

• Talk to new teachers and staff about the benefits of joining the SSCEA.

• Represent members who may need support in their building- take notes, refer them to the Leadership Team or NSEA for support.

• Forward questions/concerns/celebrations to the Leadership Team.

• Maintain member confidentiality (including member list, questions, concerns) 

• Meet with the Building Principal on a quarterly basis (some meet monthly) to share member concerns, ask questions on their behalf. 

Building Representative Meetings,
Meetings begin at 4:00 PM. Each building should have at least one representative in attendance. Building reps are paid $10 for each meeting- paid at the end of the year. 

• September 9, 2025- Harney

• October 14, 2025- Lewis and Clark

• November 11, 2025- Cardinal

• January 13, 2026- Covington

• March 10, 2026- Middle School

• April 14, 2026- Dakota City

• May 12, 2026 Restaurant SSC

Coverage of school board meetings
All Board meetings are held in the High School Library, glass room. The meeting begins promptly at 5:00 PM.  If a conflict arises for your building coverage month, please trade with another building representative or have a member from your building attend. Please submit your meeting notes electronically to the Leadership Team by the end of the week the meeting was held. sscealeadership@gmail.com
