School Meals

Breakfast and hot lunch are served at all South Sioux City Community School locations.  Fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lower-fat entrées and milk are key components to a rounded school meal.  The District continues to contract with Lunchtime Solutions, Inc. to provide balanced, healthy meals to our students.    

Families of students who may be eligible for free or reduced price meal benefits must submit a new application each new school year (July 5th or after) to determine eligibility. It is important to submit a completed School Year 2026-2027 meal application as soon as possible. Only one meal application is needed for each household.

Free And Reduced-price Meals All families are encouraged to complete the Free and Reduced-Price School Meal Application.  Some parents may qualify to receive free or reduced-price meals for their children.  The online application is quick and simple to fill out or you can print a paper copy and return it to any school in the South Sioux City Community Schools. You can also mail the paper application to South Sioux City Community Schools, Attn: Nutrition Services/High School 3301 G Street, South Sioux City, NE 68776.

Refunds

Refunds may be requested for families leaving the District or for families with students graduating.  To request a refund, parents should email accountspayable@ssccards.org.  The email should include Student’s First and Last Name, Student’s Building and Grade, Student ID number (if known), Reason For the Refund, Parent’s Mailing Address and Parent’s Phone Number.  Refunds generally take two to four weeks for processing.

To file a program discrimination complaint, complete the USDA Program Discrimination Complaint Form, AD-3027, found online at How to File a Program Discrimination Complaint and at any USDA office or write a letter addressed to USDA and provide in the letter all of the information requested in the form.
