2001 Fremont Cross Country Invite: Boys & Girls Full Results
While both the varsity and JV teams finished 6th overall today at the Fremont invite, that was not a good indicator of how great a day it was for the team. The varsity was only 12 points short of a 4th place finish. Also, 12 of the boys set their personal bests and the other 3 boys all set season bests. This bodes well for the rest of the season. The day was highlighted by our lone medalist Hunde who finished 5th in a top class A field. His time of 16:02 is not only a 20 second PB, but it gives him the fastest time of any Cardinal on the Fremont course and catapults him to #3 all-time on all courses. He now sits behind only 2016 state champion and runner up Abdul Mohamed and Osman Geele.

2017 Fremont Invite: 2017 Fremont Results Our girls were in action yesterday at Valley View Golf Course for the Fremont Invite. This meet was set up in two divisions- a 9-10 race, and a 11-12 race. In the 9-10 race, Emane Ahmed continues to cut huge amounts of time in each race she runs, clocking a 21:55 to take 9th place in that division. In the 11-12 division, our girls ran very well, putting 5 in the top 19, but it wasn't quite enough to take the team title, as we finished 7 points out of first place. Sadie Rocha led the way with a season best time of 21:05 to take 5th, and Marybeth Rasmussen ran the best race of her career to take 14th place with a 22:17. Zoe Cigard was 16th, Kaley Rivera was 18th and Ximena Alvarez was 19th. We had many season best times yesterday! Next up is Norfolk next Friday.
2017 Plattsmouth Invite: 2017 Plattsmouth Results The girls were in action Thursday, Aug. 31st at the always difficult Plattsmouth Invite. It's a great meet to go to, because there are so many teams and individuals there who are going to be placing at the state meet in October. This season's race included 7 returning state medalists, 7 teams that qualified for the State XC meet last season, and 2 individual state champions. Sadie Rocha led the way for us again with a great race, finishing in 10th place with a time of 21:27. Senior Zoe Cigard is continuing to figure out how to run a cross country race, and was our second finisher with a time of 23:00. Freshman Emane Ahmed, in her first varsity race, was our 3rd finished, covering the 5000 meters in 23:14. Kaley Rivera was our final scorer, running 23:50. Our times were definitely better than they were a year ago for the girls who ran both years.

I thought the girls ran very well for the first meet of the year. We had to deal with a 40 minute weather delay where the girls were called to the line 3 different times, only to be sent back due to lightning. We handled it as well as we could have I think. Junior Sadie Rocha led the way with a 10th place time of 20:16, Marybeth Rasmussen was our 2nd runner (22:42), followed by Ximena Alvarez (22:53), Kaley Rivera (22:55), Zoe Cigard (24:04), Tuenedi Villicana (24:04), and Ashley Rios (25:33). The girls finished 5th in the team scoring. In the JV race, we were led by 2 freshmen: Emane Ahmed finished 3rd, covering a shorter 4k course in 20:11. Yesenia Balderas was 7th in 20:49. Great job girls!

2016 Plattsmouth Invite: JV Results | Varisty Results The girls started the season off at the Plattsmouth Invite - a meet that brings together many very good cross country teams. We had 22 girls run their first cross country race, so we were a little anxious as to how the team would perform. They held up great, and despite not having a full varsity squad, we scored better than we did last year. Leading the way for the girls was sophomore Sadie Rocha, completing her first cross country race in 22:12 to finish in 14th place.
