Recognizing Multilingual Student Achievement


South Sioux City High School is proud to offer students the opportunity to earn the Nebraska and Global Seal of Biliteracy—an academic honor that recognizes high school seniors for their proficiency in two or more languages.


This recognition not only celebrates the cultural and linguistic diversity within our school but also gives students a competitive edge in their future careers and academic journeys.



What is the Seal of Biliteracy?

The Seal of Biliteracy certifies that a graduating student is proficient in English and at least one other language through a combination of coursework and language assessments.



Who is Eligible?

The program is open to 12th-grade SSC High School students. Students can qualify for the Seal by demonstrating their language skills through approved testing and meeting course requirements.
