South Sioux City, NE — South Sioux City High School is proud to announce that two outstanding student musicians have been selected to perform at the 2025 Nebraska All-State Music Festival, which will take place in November on the University of Nebraska–Lincoln campus.
Joel Raudales was selected for the Nebraska All-State Choir, and Emily Huarcas earned a place in the Nebraska All-State Band. Both students were chosen through a highly competitive audition process that draws talented musicians from across the state.
Participation in the All-State ensembles represents one of the highest honors for Nebraska high school musicians. Students spend months preparing audition materials and are evaluated on musicianship, technical skill, and performance excellence.
“Being selected for All-State is a tremendous achievement that reflects Joel’s and Emily’s dedication and talent,” said South Sioux City High School Principal David Clausen. “We’re proud of their accomplishments and look forward to seeing them represent our school and community on the state stage.”
The Nebraska All-State event is sponsored by the Nebraska Music Education Association (NMEA) and brings together the state’s top high school performers for several days of intensive rehearsals culminating in public performances at the Lied Center for Performing Arts in Lincoln.
Congratulations to Joel and Emily on this outstanding achievement!
