The Dakota City Community Foundation and community partners invite residents and visitors to attend the 14th Annual Cottonwood Days celebration June 12–14, 2026, in Dakota City.

The weekend-long event features a variety of family-friendly activities, community traditions, food vendors, entertainment, and opportunities to celebrate the spirit of Dakota City.

Festivities begin Friday evening with a community dinner, bingo, a softball game, a foam party, and fireworks. Saturday's schedule includes the Cottonwood Days Parade, car show, vendor fair, horseshoe tournament, historical church tours, and a Kid's Fun Zone featuring inflatables, horse rides, face painting, games, and more. Saturday evening concludes with a cornhole tournament, food truck, and live music. The celebration wraps up Sunday with breakfast at the American Legion.
