Attendance is important to academic success!

It is hard to believe that we’ve almost completed a full quarter of the school year; I do hope your children are having a great year. One of the keys to student success is being at school each and every day. Here at South Sioux City Community Schools we are committed to offering the best educational programs for our students. Recently, you should have received an important Attendance Flier in your mailbox that covers the different ways we can work together to make sure all students are in class each and every day.

We believe that school attendance is vitally important to academic success and to our overall plan for school improvement. If students are not in attendance they miss out on valuable instruction, class discussions, and lessons that lay the groundwork for future achievement. The State of Nebraska has a required attendance code that requires a child be in attendance each school day for the entire time instruction is provided. If your child is ill or will not be in school, please contact your school office. It is our hope that by working together with you as a team, we will have a successful school year. Enjoy your evening!
