The deadlines for the following scholarships are quickly approaching:

  • Susan Thompson Buffett Scholarship, Due February 1, 2021, by 5:00pm =

  • Kind World Foundation Scholarship / Deadline: 2-1-21 by noon / Min. GPA 3.0, Financial need, Special Circumstances, Good Character, Community Service 

  • Col. V. Thomas Considine Scholarship / Deadline: 2-15-21 / Member of 185th Iowa Air Nat’l Guard or a parent that is 

  • Jonathan David Phillips Performing Arts Memorial Scholarship / Deadline: 2-15-21 / Min GPA 2.5, participated in performing arts in high school   

  • Flight Crew (United 232) Scholarship / Deadline: 2-15-21 / Going in to a medical field and attending a Sioux City college   

  • Great West Casualty Company Scholarship / Deadline: 2-15-21 / Have a parent that works at Great West Casualty   

  • empirical Scholarship/ 2-15-21 / Min. GPA 3.0, 22 ACT, Must have worked minimum of 10 hours per week during his/her high school experience.

The FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) opened on October 1 at www.fafsa.ed.gov.  Both student and parent will need an FSA ID if you do not have one.  To apply for the FSA ID, go to www.fsaid.ed.gov.   

 

Please send your senior picture to steph.hames@ssccards.org and tell us “Where Are You Going/Been Accepted to College?”  We will print your picture and where you are going to college and put them up on the bulletin board in the commons and by the counselor’s room.

__ Complete the FAFSA if you have not

__ Watch for financial aid award notifications and verification requests from your college student portals

__ If you have not applied to a post secondary school , please do so ASAP
